What is meant by products liability?
This is a law that allows consumers to recover damages caused by unreasonably dangerous products. A product can be unreasonably dangerous by the manner in which it is manufactured, designed, or marketed. This law covers all products a consumer or worker might use. The test for deciding if a product is unreasonably dangerous is a simple, common sense balance test. On one side there is the chance of injury and the severity of injury. On the other side, is the cost or effort necessary for the manufacturer to avoid this risk to the consumer. The term product can include anything from phamacuticals to cars.
